README.TXT Notes on the creation of the Visual FoxPro version of the ALMIS Database, Version 2.4: 1. Primary keys were established for all tables. 2. Referential integrity was established for all tables. 3. Nearly all lookup tables were populated with prototype content. The OCCODES and INDCODES administrative tables were populated from their respective lookup tables by modifying and appending records rather than through the use of triggers. Triggers were not developed. Instead, conditional indexes were established between data tables and each of the occupational, training or industry classifications that might be included. For example, the ESAPPLIC table includes relationships with the CLUSCODE, OESCODE, CIPCODE, DOTCODE, CENSCODE, CIDSCODE, SOCCODE, ONETCODE and INDDIR lookup tables. Each relationship uses a classification-specific index based on the contents of the code type variable and including only the number of columns needed for that particular classification. If you have any questions about the files, feel free to contact the NCSC at NCSC.ARC@iowa.gov or by telephone at 515-242-5034.
